Well the New York hockey Rangers wasted no time once free agency in the NHL began on Sunday. They signed Scott Gomez, formerly of the rival New Jersey Devils, and Chris Drury of the Buffalo Sabres who eliminated NYR in the playoffs last season.

This comes only a couple weeks after stealing the #5 overall rated player in the NHL draft in Alexei Cherepanov with the 17th pick.

NYR seems solid all around as they are expected to re-sign Brendan Shanahan this week along with Sean Avery who had a tremendous stint last season with the team.

It’s all starting to come together as there will be no shortage of talented players in New York this season. I’m excited already!
