Wow, in just 9 short months, JK Says has accumulated more than 20,000 visits!

It started out very slow in the first 4 or 5 months but NHL 08 posts are by far the most visited. Most notably, we jumped to an average of 300+ per day since the NHL trade deadline with a one day high of 409.

Thank you to everyone who reads.

Magnificent. Awesome. Incredible. I don’t know how else to describe how well our first round of the American Gladiators Halo 3 tournament went.

The whole thing was conceived when I went home to see family in Fort Wayne, IN in December. My brother and I came up with the idea of creating a realistic Assault map. I’ve seen assault maps from numerous other people on bungie’s website, but none of them were really all that good. We wanted it to be as realistic and authentic looking as possible. After a hundred or more games of testing, we finally came up with a very playable game of Assault. Who would’ve thought it would have turned into what it has become?

Now I know we only had 8 players, but as far as I can tell, they all enjoy playing it. Hopefully this will be improved upon for our next tournament now they everyone is aware of it’s success.

We played a total of 8 different events, had scores ranging from 21 to 53, 4 separate matchups, and one of the closest eliminator finishes we’ll probably ever see.

We finally got the chance to see what works great, and what doesn’t so much, but overall everything seemed play out as planned.

If you click on the AG tabs at the top of the page you can check out the scoring recap of each match, see our all time records, and get updated rules and news.

More to come as we begin our Semi Finals this week.

So tonight is the second of six “The Price is Right Million Dollar Spectaculars”. I’m wondering how they top last week’s episode.

Nevermind the $1,000,000 win, everything about the MDS was great. I love the black floor and the fact that the show is in HD. The only thing that is a shame is that Mr. Bob Barker wasn’t able to give away $1,000,000. Now having said that, Drew Carey is one lucky man. Not only does he give it away in his FIRST show, he also gave it away in his first episode of Power of 10. How’s that million coming Deal or no deal?

Now I’m probably one of the few who thinks this million dollar thing is way too easy. Why would they give you a $1,000 leeway for getting it in the showcase? Keep it at $250 with those giant showcases and I would have no problem with it.

As far as the $1,000,000 pricing game? Depending on the game, this could also be too easy. In One away, as seen last week, you have a 1 in 32 chance at getting it by simply guessing. Of course you’re certainly going to have the first number right so bump it down to 1 in 16. Based on the number of Double Showcase wins this year on the daytime show (6), and how easily someone could play a “perfect” pricing game, I’d say there’s a good chance TPIR is going to be giving away another $1,000,000 very soon.

Hopefully we see Golden Road for a Viper tonight.

In case you missed it, here’s the Million Dollar Win.

Ok, since I’ve been getting bombarded with people wanting to know about a new roster update for NHL 08, my short answer is that I don’t know.

I would assume Roster Update 2 comes out within the next week or so since the trade deadline just hit hard.

I’m getting literally 100+ hits alone from people who clearly want to know about it. I don’t know, so don’t ask me.

Sorry I can’t help, but when they come out, you’ll know about it.

Well not the real ones, but the LeagueGaming team. I’ve posted about it before but it’s a 3 on 3 team league where each “team” has upwards of 25 players on it consisting of both NHL and AHL rosters.

After a great first season for me (league’s 2nd overall), I have been selected to be the GM of the team for Season 3. I couldn’t be more excited. Of course I wouldn’t want to be the GM of any other team.

That means I’m basically in charge of the team and get to make the tough decisions such as roster moves, trades, dealing with arguments…etc…

I’m sure no one that reads my blog really cares much, but it’s a big responsibility that will take up some of my time. I know I have a lot of it. čÖé

Let’s Go Jackets!

It appears Nintendo wants to charge gamers for their already crappy online service on a “pay and play” basis. What that means exactly is unknown, but Nintendo will eventually charge you to play certain games online.

This likely means games like Animal Crossing will take on a charge since it will be a MMO.

Great, and I JUST finished entering in a friend code. There’s 10 minutes of my life I’ll never get back.

Nintendo simply lacks games that are worth anything that aren’t in the Mario/Zelda franchise. Everything else sucks. My wii will get even less playtime (right now it’s about 2 hours a month) if this pay and play crap happens.

Even I was impressed by how well the first two matches of our tournament went.

We got through each match in about 40 minutes, which is well below the prediction of 60 minutes.

We also had an eliminator finish that will be talked about for many tournaments to come (well probably not). It was an extremely exciting finish as lordzamboni overcame a 4.5 second deficit only to lose in a near photo finish to PRS Panic. Meanwhile, Panic scored a record 53 points in his 6 events.

In the other matchup Hang Time easily downed aXeisELite 42-23 and won the eliminator by 10 seconds. This including a record 13 second scaling of the Pyramid.

I’ll post videos of a couple highlights soon.

If you are still wanting to join up for our first ever American Gladiators on Halo 3 Tournament, you are running out of time. Signups end in less than 48 hours from now.

Click here to signup. Please look over all the rules on this blog as well as’s site.

If you are unable to signup prior to Wednesday and still want to participate as a Gladiator, you are more than welcome to. Remember, we will have more tournaments after this, plus we can start up a short format tournament at ANY time because they only take around 90 minutes to complete.

We hope to have 8-12 players for our opening tournament and it looks like we’ll hit the minimum for sure.

In other news, we’ve added a 13th event to our list (amazing huh?). Hang Tough will be added to the rotation pending further testing. We just have to tweak it so it isn’t as one sided as it is, but it WILL be added soon.

I’ve had the pleasure of looking at SEVERAL different American Gladiator maps on Foundry from random people on as well as a google search, and I can honestly say that our maps combined with the organization and dedication we have with making them universally playable are the best around.

Our (not so) good friend, Lawyer Jack Thompson is at it again. Yes, Mr. Thompson is again using a great tragedy in our country to get his name published in print and on TV.

In an interview on Fox News, Thompson blamed Steven Kazmierczak’s murderous rampage at Northern Illinois University on “video games like Counter-Strike”.

I must say that this guy is truly disgusting and has a goal that is in essence no better than that Jesus-hates-fags church that goes around protesting at funerals of fallen soldiers. To show up in the news and spew untrue statements that basically attempt to let this killer off the hook is unacceptable.

Jack Thompson, you are once again the Biggest Idiot Ever!

Well in case you haven’t heard, The Price Is Right filmed 6 Primetime Specials this week at the Bob Barker Studio. I’m not certain they’ll still be called “Million Dollar Spectacular’s” or not, but they will be offering a $1,000,000 top prize still, just in a different way as before.

The big deal going around on message boards is whether Price will be in HD for those specials and all answers seem to point to YES!

Be on the lookout for CBS to put it’s regular TPIR shows in HD THIS SEASON as well.

More HD is always a good thing.

With the Writer’s Guild Associations Strike coming to an end, we need to prepare to finally start watching new shows that aren’t game show or reality. Now many shows have held back some episodes just in case the strike kept going, but these supplies are coming to an end.

Here is what many shows that I watch will be doing in the future and what they have left:

24: (FOX) My absolute favorite show on television will NOT air in 2008. They have already filmed 8 episodes but Season 7 has been postponed until January of 2009 when Season 8 was slated to start. Going 18 months without 24 sucks.

Back to You: (FOX) Un-aired episodes: 2 Future is in TBD. This is a fantastic comedy with two longtime stars. I can’t see Fox letting this one go.

Bionic Woman: (NBC) No New Episodes expected. Not a terrible show, but not the greatest either. I would have liked to see it back, but I’m not going to complain about it going away.

Friday Night Lights: (NBC) No New Episodes this season. Future TBD. Since moving to Friday it’s Friday night timeslot, I figured this thing would get canned. My guess is that it goes away. I’ll admit I didn’t watch it on a regular basis, but when I did catch it after 1 vs 100, I enjoyed it.

Grey’s Anatomy: (ABC) Expected to shoot 4 to 7 new episodes to air in April/May. No surprise here as one of ABC’s highest rated shows comes back to finish the season. Rest assured this show will be on for years to come.

House: (FOX) Expected to shoot 4 to 6 new episodes to air in April/May. Again, no surprise here. This is the best medical show I’ve ever seen and according to ratings, people tend to agree with me.

Journeyman: (NBC) No new episodes expected, ever. This show went from fascinating, to uninteresting very quickly. It did very little to explain any reasoning behind why this guy traveled back in time. I’m fine with it’s cancellation.

Law & Order, Law & Order: CI, Law & Order SVU: (NBC, USA) Expected to shoot an indeterminate number of episodes to air in spring. Each has a very distinct cast that is fun to watch. While I maintain that SVU is the best of the three, I have no complaints about the other two.

The Office: (NBC) Expected to shoot 5 to 10 new episodes to air in April/May. Probably the funniest show I’ve seen in years. I can only say “That’s what she said” so many times without seeing The Office. I cannot wait for this show to be back on.

Prison Break: (FOX) 2 unaired episodes remaining. Future TBD. The final new episode which airs next week was originally supposed to be the mid-season finale, but was pushed up because of the strike. This is my 2nd favorite show and will certainly be renewed for another year. A spinoff is already in the making as well and this character is expected to be introduced next year.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: (FOX) Four pre-strike episodes remain. Future beyond that TBD. This show got off to stellar ratings and has been very entertaining to watch. We’ll see what happens.

This failed to mention any of the animated shows that were affected.

To get a bigger audience for our tournament I went looking for competent sites that can run tournaments. I believe I’ve found one and have been talking it over with their webmaster and I think that we are going to have the official signups be on their site. is the site and it’s already getting new members.

So here’s the deal. If you are still interested in playing, you MUST go to their site and signup.

Here the link. You’ll need to create an account of course, but that takes a matter of seconds.

I’m hoping I’ll be able to get as much customization as I can, but if not, the minimum I’ll have is a bracket style tournament which is really all i NEED.

I’ll still have all the little things on this blog.

Also, don’t be intimidated by the set times and everything on their website as I am going to maintain my “flexibility at all costs” motto.

The tournament can hold up to 32 people and a minimum of 8. For every head to head matchup we are going to need at least 3 more players (preferably more) to be gladiators. I may or may not play as a contender depending on how many players we get.

I know it’s a long time in the making, but we are finally going to get this off the ground.

So please signup and we’ll start in a little over a week!

Well I’ve got 6 game clips in my Halo 3 file share of American Gladiators action.

Here is a link to my file share. After you go there, go to Halo 3 to watch them and let me know what you think.

The games you’ll be able to see currently are Assault, Atlasphere, Maze, Joust, Swingshot and Gauntlet.

Assault and Atlasphere’s videos are fantastic in my opinion.

Check them out.

I plan on getting a short format tournament started very soon.
