It’s not too often I get this excited about movies. This month there are a plethora of movies I cannot wait to see.

Let’s go chronologically shall we?

2 weeks ago, X-Men Origins: Wolverine premiered and it was magnificent. In fact, they have already announced another in the “Origins” series which should be out in 2 years. Since my wife doesn’t seem to care about some movies like I do, I tend to go during the day and during the week to the theatre. In fact, I went to the 10:30 am X-Men on opening day and I was surprised there were at least 30 people there.

This past weekend was the debut of the new Star Trek series. From those who have seen this, I’ve heard it was awesome. I’m not a big Star Trek guy, but it starts the story from the beginning, which is the same reason I went to see Friday the 13th this year. I plan to see this tomorrow afternoon because Regal Cinemas has $1 popcorn on Tuesday with your Regal Card. The Regal Card is awesome by the way because occasionally you get a free drink, popcorn, or even a free ticket.

May 15 we see the sequel to The DaVinci Code, “Angels and Demons”. Tom Hanks returns to his role of learning the deep secrets of the Vatican. I cannot wait to check this film out. I did not read the book this time around, but I did read the previous installment. The ending to the movie and the book were drastically different so I guess I won’t really know the difference here.

May 21-22 brings a couple more sequels. First up is Terminator: Salvation. It’s the 4th of the Terminator movies and quite possibly the series with the longest total time between movies ever. Christian Bale takes on the role of John Connor in a movie that takes place in 2018, well after Skynet has ruined the world. Remember that at the end of the 3rd movie, John was in a safe room when bombs they tried to stop were set off around the world. If this movie is done right, it will be the 4th of 5 Terminator movies with the final installment taking place farther into the future and us seeing the death of John.

Also releasing is Night at the Museum 2: Battle for the Smithsonian. Ben Stiller returns with an all star cast including Owen Wilson, and Robin Williams. The first movie was surprisingly good and this movie will be enhanced in IMAX for a fantastic experience.

Finally, May 29 brings us “The Maiden Heist”. While I admit I don’t know much about this movie, I noticed Morgan Freeman, Christopher Walken, and Willam H. Macy are in this. Based on just that information, it’s hard to go wrong here. I love Heist movies so this is something I’m looking forward to.
